Born and raised in Southern California, it seems only natural that Zach has a draw to the West Coast. However, his family relocated to the Midwest in 1989 - where he attended both high school and college. Following college Casper accepted a position that relocated him once again - this time East. He currently resides on the East Coast where he is a computer engineer. Zach received his masters degree in computer science and continues practicing engineering, prototyping and consulting for various clients.
He is an avid mountain biker, wakeboarder, snowboarder and mountaineer. Often you can find him testing the limits on, yet, another adventure related sport. Zach competes in several adventure sport races and competitions each year, but most recently his focus has been on mountaineering. In 2008, led by his church pastor, Casper and nine (9) other adventure seeking Christians wanted to combine thier passions as adventurers and their compassion for the struggling people around the world. This led to the organization of The Last Well. A group, that in one short year, has become a fully operating non-profit entity using mountaineering and other related activities to raise funds and awareness for the clean water crisis in Liberia, Africa. Zach was a member of Expedition Elbrus, The Last Well's inaugural climb of the tallest peak on the European continent. This climb is a part of the group's Seven Summits campaign - a campaign committed to raising millions for water well refurbishment and the drilling of new wells in the country of Liberia.
